Workington had a miracle great escape as they climbed off the bottom of the table with a final day victory against Oldham and they travel to Oldham again looking to close the gap to the side above them to only one point in the fight for survival.

Town have done the double over Oldham this season as they beat them in their round 6 encounter in a 23-12 fixture in what was Workington’s first victory of the season.

Oldham will be looking for this fixture to be a springboard to survival after finally being promoted from League 1 last season, they have shown some top notch performances especially when causing the shock of the season when they travelled to Hull KR in the cup and knocked out the Super Legue side.

Workington have had a turbulent last few weeks with financial problems which have gone largely unnoticed due to Bradford’s financial woes. But Town have asked their fans to raise ยฃ10000 to secure the clubs future and will be hoping they can have a future in this division.
