Penrith Panthers have granted Bryce Cartwright a release from his contract.

In a club statement late on Saturday afternoon, they confirmed Cartwright “has been released from the remainder of his contract with the club to pursue another opportunity in the NRL.”

It’s believed the 23 year old will link up with the Gold Coast Titans. This was confirmed by the club shortly after 5pm QLD time on Saturday.

Cartwright made his debut at the Panthers in 2014 and quickly became a rising star; 2017 was a difficult year off-field with personal threats and the death of a former partner. He appeared in 68 matches for the western Sydney club, scoring 16 tries.

The Panthers’ off-season has been disruptive with Matt Moylan being released as part of a swap with premiership-winning five-eighth James Maloney.
