There are massive games at the top and bottom and this week. Here are my predictions…

Huddersfield Giants vs Hull FC (Thu, 7:45pm)

The week gets underway with a Yorkshire derby on Thursday night, as Hull FC make the trip to Huddersfield.

The Giants were brought back down to earth last week as a five-match winning streak came to an end with a heavy 37-10 defeat at Hull KR.

Meanwhile across the city, FC were struggling to a win over Widnes, and they will need to improve on that performance but I’m sure they will.

Prediction: Huddersfield Giants 16-32 Hull FC

Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves (Fri, 7:45pm)

Wigan seem to have found their early-season groove again after dispatching Leeds 46-8 on Friday, and it comes at a useful time with the small matter of a clash with Warrington next up.

The Wolves weren’t at their best last week as they were pushed for long periods, but they overcame that to remain just two points behind their second-placed opponents this week.

Warrington have been shaky in the last few weeks and will have one hell of a test here, and I think that the home side might just sneak the win.

Prediction: Wigan Warriors 24-20 Warrington Wolves

St Helens vs Widnes Vikings (Fri, 8:00pm)

St Helens were given quite the scare last week by Wakefield but managed to make it over the line, while Widnes gave Hull FC a really a tough game but were eventually seen off.

With those two performances in mind, could this clash of top against bottom be more competitive than the table would suggest?

The Vikings provided a tough test at Magic Weekend before the league leaders managed to pull away, and I can see a similar narrative here as Saints continue their march.

Prediction: St Helens 40-16 Widnes Vikings
