It may have only been 3 months since Tom Briscoe’s 5 try heroics at Wembley, but the road to the final being held on Saturday 27th August at the National Stadium is back underway as the first round draw has taken place this afternoon. Dave Woods hosted the draw and was joined by Briscoe and Lizzie Jones, Widow of Keighley player Danny Jones.ย The first round will be played over the weekend of 30th-31st January, the second round will be played over 13th-14th February.
Tom Briscoe drew the home sides while Lizzie Jones drew the away sides in Dressing Room 2 at Wembley, the dressing room that the victorious Leeds Rhinos used in last year’s cup success when they beat Hull KR in a record breaking 50-0 scoreline.

There was a bit of confusion in the draw when ball 27 was called out as East Leeds – This ball was meant to be Stanningley and was confirmed on The Challenge Cup twitter account as Stanningley and they will welcome St Helens based side Pilkington Recs.
