Axed by the Brisbane Broncos, Sam Thaiday is keen to start a new chapter…as an actor.

‘You’ve all seen the NRMA ads, I’m easily the best actor in the NRL, if not Australia. I’ve had a great footy career, now it’s time to take acting more seriously,’ said Thaiday.

The Broncos, Queensland and Australia legend talked with Russell Crowe about breaking into Hollywood.

‘I see myself as the next John Cena; champion, beloved athlete who transforms into a natural comedy superstar.’

Thaiday has been offered a recurring role as “the wacky neighbour” on Nine’s House Husbands, but believes it’s beneath him.

‘My talents would be wasted on a boring Aussie comedy-drama. Instead, Rusty’s trying to get me the role of Bart in his Blazing Saddles remake. I can’t wait.’

The Forward Pass is a fictional and deliberately ridiculous look at the NRL. References to real people is for satirical purposes only.
