The Forward Pass: Who’s Following Their Boxing Dream?

The fake news that’s actually fake.

Paul Gallen returns to boxing later this year, fighting Jeff Horn in a massive free-to-air event in Brisbane.

“I’ve done heaps of thinking after the Cowboys loss. I need a break from ignorant fans and biased referees,” said Gallen. “What better way to distract myself than fighting one of Australia’s best boxers? Horny’s a good bloke, we’ll have fun and I’ll worry about footy next year.”

Gallen will start with a few warm-up bouts before the huge prime-time fight against Horn at Suncorp Stadium, broadcast on Channel Nine on Friday November 24.

“It’s perfect. Queenslanders love Horn and despise Gal,” said Nine CEO Hugh Marks. “There’ll be 50,000 at Suncorp and massive ratings for us. We’ll market it as Boxing’s State of Origin and get Ray Warren to head an expert commentary team.”

Jeff Horn is looking forward to it, “It’s my birthright as a proud Queenslander to knock the shit out of Gallen at Lang Park, the true home of rugby league. I can’t wait.”

The Forward Pass is a fictional and deliberately ridiculous look at the NRL. References to real people is for satirical purposes only.
