The Dragons will meet the Broncos in the NRLW Grand Final, after a sharp win over an improved Roosters.

In a display of solid speed and defence out wide by both teams, a double to Jessica Sergis was the deciding factor that pushed the Dragons over the line.

After a disallowed try each, the scoring was opened in the 12th minute when Mel Howard dived over defenders to cross the line.

Just two minutes later, gun centre Sergis pulled off a one on one strip on Golden Boot winner Isabelle Kelly, then sprinted 40 minutes to level the score.

The Roosters hit back in the 18th minute when a line break by rookie Shanice Parker saw debutante Bobbi Law cross over in the corner, but the Dragons drew ahead minutes later when Tiana Penitani burst through the line to score.

A try to Shakiah Tungai minutes before half time saw the Dragons go into the shed leading 16 – 10.

The Roosters looked fierce and determined early in the first half, which saw retiring prop Ruan Sims barge her way through defenders to score under the posts.

With scores even the Roosters looked dangerous as the attacked the line, but a intercept and 80 meter run by Jess Sergis saw the Dragons regain the lead.

While the Roosters fought back and defended hard, some costly errors prevented them from scoring, and a penalty goal in the final four minutes sealed the game.

The Roosters remained win-less this season, it was an excellent display of football by both teams.
