Here’s five talking points from the last seven days across the rugby league world.
5. RIP Jordan Cox (27 May 1992 to 30 April 2020)
The rugby league world was saddened by the untimely passing of Jordan Cox on Thursday (at the age of 27).
Reports suggest there are no suspicious circumstances to his death.
He made his debut at 19 for Hull Kingston Rovers in Super League, appearing 65 times for the club before short stints at the Huddersfield Giants and the Warrington Wolves. Taking a break after playing with the Sheffield Eagles, Cox returned to the game in 2019 with League 1 side Doncaster.
This news comes weeks after the sudden death of former Wynnum-Manly Seagulls captain Mitch Cronin in tragic circumstances in Brisbane.
There’s been an outpouring of tributes following the news.
Absolutely devastated to hear this, this afternoon. Always had a lot of time for him as a young kid at rovers. Was always laughing and ripping into people. Thoughts with his family and friends! https://t.co/1114pO5f3Y
